Wood is a good solid material, it does not get warped by being left out side in the sun, after being sealed it is fairly resistant to weather, bathtub, and does not break easily when stepped on. We all know that toys are not always put away at night or that they magically get moved to be in the walkway when the lights are out or when we are in a hurry to get somewhere.
